BACKGROUND

Born in Hasuda, Saitama, in 1981. After studying photography at a US university, he returned to Japan and worked at a trading company, using his English while discovering wine. He later worked at a wine shop and, aspiring to start a winery, moved to Tōmi, Nagano, in 2010. His first vintage, made under contract, was 2013, and he opened his own winery in August 2022. He photographs his own wine labels on an iPhone.
