BACKGROUND

Born in Hamura, Tokyo, in 1978. After graduating from a science university in 2002, he worked as a systems engineer. During his office years, he attended cooking classes run by Le Cordon Bleu as a hobby, grew interested in wine, and earned a Wine Expert qualification. Visiting the vineyards of Saint-Émilion, he was moved and resolved to make wine. He moved to Tōmi, Nagano, in 2009, began growing wine grapes in 2010, and opened his winery in October 2014.
