BACKGROUND
Born in Tokyo in 1989. He aspired to be a chef but, opposed by his parents, attended a night culinary school while at university and grew interested in the world of drink. After working as a liquor buyer, he moved to a natural-wine importer, then left after three years for France, gaining viticulture and winemaking experience with Cyril Alonso and Florent Rouve in Beaujolais. From 2019 he settled in Niki, Hokkaido, acquired farmland in Yoichi in 2022, and began running his own winery in autumn 2023.
