PHILOSOPHY

Two founding themes: Quality first and Wide perspective. Established 2020 by Shinsuke Isaka, who brings winemaking experience from New Zealand, Italy, and the UK.

VITICULTURE

Farming

Vinified from estate fruit in Hokuto and grapes sourced from veteran growers in Yoichi. After flowering, caps are removed with compressed air to prevent grey rot. Winter pruning is done after harvest rather than before the snow. Organic lime from scallop shells is applied every two years to correct soil acidity.

井坂 真介

Birthplace鹿児島県

BACKGROUND

Born in Kagoshima in 1985. After studying geography at Ritsumeikan University, he spent four years importing wine at Mikuni Wine from 2008. In 2013 he trained in New Zealand (Kusuda Wines, Mt. Rosa Wines, Marlborough, Neudorf Vineyards) on a working holiday, then worked as a sommelier at Yashin Ocean House in London. He gained two years of winemaking experience in Italy (Falesco and others). In Hokkaido he handled three vintages at Camel Farm Winery before founding Due Punti LLC in Hokuto in February 2020.

PREVIOUS CAREER

Wine importing at Mikuni Wine (2008–2012); sommelier at Yashin Ocean House, London.

New Zealand: Kusuda Wines, Mt. Rosa Wines, a Marlborough winery, Neudorf Vineyards. Italy: Falesco (two years). Hokkaido: Camel Farm Winery (three vintages).
